GREEN TOMATO PIE

Here's the Green Tomato Pie recipe from Grandma & Mom. Make up some regular pie crust - for a top & bottom.

 
Prep time:  15 minutes, Bake at 425 degrees

INGREDIENTS:

For the filling -

- thinly slice up 6 or 8 small green tomatoes and

- thinly slice up a lemon (take out seeds)

Crumble together

- 1 c brown sugar

- 1/4 c white sugar

- 4 T flour

- 3 T butter

- 1 t salt

 

DIRECTIONS:

In bottom pie crust - Do 2 layers of each - tomatoes. lemons, crumbled mixture

Put on top crust & vent it.

Bake at 425 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
